Goodrich Consulting is proud to announce the achievement of its Year 5 certification with Planet Mark, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to making a positive impact on the environment and local communities.
Over the past five years, we’ve taken significant steps in reducing our carbon footprint, and overall, we’ve seen reductions year on year. However, the business experienced substantial growth in the last two years, which has influenced the results in this year’s report.
While we’ve measured and reduced our Scope 1 and 2 emissions (market-based) per turnover by 9.4% compared to the previous reporting period, overall emissions have increased. This isn’t solely due to growth, as this year we’ve expanded our reporting boundary to include two new Scope 3 categories: ‘Fuel and Energy Related Activities’ and ‘Business Travel.’ By including these in our future reports, we’re ensuring a more accurate and comprehensive representation of our carbon footprint.
This update aligns with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol’s best practices and supports our ongoing journey toward Net Zero. We’re also pleased to report that our data quality score in the latest report reached an impressive 91.2%. Tracking these upstream energy emissions allows us to better identify reduction opportunities, monitor progress, and remain compliant with regulatory standards.
In addition, we have several initiatives underway, including our EV car scheme to support the switch to electric vehicles, encouraging shared travel for meetings and site visits, increasing public transport use, and exploring renewable energy options.
Balancing business growth with carbon footprint reduction brings challenges, and while we didn’t achieve a reduction this year, we remain committed to our sustainability goals. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Planet Mark and taking further steps toward a more sustainable future.
