Progressing towards completion at London Gateway for DP World

Plot 4020A at London Gateway, is our third successful delivery for DP World, at London Gateway.  The current scheme is a 94,000 sq ft industrial unit incorporating 21,500 sq ft of office space over three floors to accommodate international multi-modal transport operators, Ziegler UK.

Works started in September 2019 with a 28-week programme. Before construction works could begin piling was carried out to the building footprint utilising 1,500 piles to stabilise the unit on the built-up ground of this reformed port.

Construction of site access roads and services was being carried out at the same time as the warehouse construction, with the access road not being available until mid-March. Readie Construction, the Main Contractor on the project, had to use a temporary site access for the majority of the works which involved careful traffic management.

We worked closely with the tenant to provide enhancements to the base specification, incorporating items of their fit-out works to co-ordinate with the base build contract.  The project achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating and an EPC rating ‘A’ and the close integration between the base build and fit out works has been a huge success on the project – something the whole delivery team should be proud of.

Works are on programme and the project is due for completion on 2nd April 2020, also allowing for early access for the tenant’s IT infrastructure cabling.
